Why Do I Need a Pest Inspection?
Getting a pest inspection is a good idea because oftentimes it is hard to tell if a home has an infestation without an expert’s analysis. In addition, a home could have areas where pests could enter, but haven’t yet, so getting an inspection is a great way to prevent potential infestations. Our reports will indicate conducive conditions that will minimize their potential for entry into the house.
If I Haven’t Noticed Any Signs of Pests, Do I Still Need an Inspection?
While you may not have noticed any signs, this doesn’t mean that your home is pest-free. Oftentimes, pests like termites can go virtually unnoticed for many years, because they live within the interior of the home’s structure and underground, and not somewhere that you would be able to see them. Getting a pest inspection can save you thousands of dollars down the road by catching a pest infestation early.
Are Pest Infestations Dangerous?
Some pests are harmful to your health or your home’s health, especially rodents. Therefore, if your home has undetected pests living among you and your family, you may feel allergies worsen, catch colds easier, or even get sick from fecal matter in the air.
How Long Do Pest Inspections Take?
A pest inspection takes about an hour depending on the home’s size, age, design and the findings of the inspector. Results will be verbally conveyed to the client immediately after the inspection and the official reports are typically emailed within 48 hours.
What Happens if the Pest Inspection Finds Pests?
It is best to take action immediately. If you are purchasing a home and your inspector finds pests, it is important to talk about how severe of a problem you are dealing with, and decided whether to walk away from the sale or go ahead with the purchase and have treatment performed.
However, if you own the home, it is important that you take action as soon as possible. Letting the pests continue to reside in or around your home will only worsen the problem.
